Advanced Course

The Advanced Course is the next step on from Open Water. Despite the name the course is designed to fit back to back with the Open Water course for those divers wishing to gain a bit more experience with an instructor present as well as getting qualified to dive to 30m.

The deeper depth rating opens up a whole new range of potential dive sites and is also essential if you want to dive in the UK. The best part of the Advanced Course is that there’s no classroom, no pool and only a small amount of homework, it's just about the diving!

How the course works

We usually run the Advanced Course every month at an inland site but we can also complete the course on coastal UK trips or overseas for those who would like to learn abroad.

The course takes 2 days to complete during which you'll do 5 qualifying dives. We usually run the following dives: 2 core dives comprising a deep and navigation dive and then 3 other dives: wreck, peak performance buoyancy and drysuit. Please do speak to us if there are other dives that interest you.

The emphasis on the course is to increase your diving experience and skill set under the guidance of an instructor. Most divers find the course incredibly enjoyable because we move away from static skill circuits and much more towards moving around and deeper dives.

When we conduct the course at the inland sites we usually do a day of shallow dives at Wraysbury on the Saturday before heading down to Vobster Quay on the Sunday to do the deeper dives.

When completing this course in a drysuit this is one of the most popular occasions to fit in a drysuit qualifying bolt on dive. Check out the special offers for more details.
