Where shall we go on our holidays next year?
It’s been just over a month since the last blog entry which has seen us enjoying the highlights of the last gasps of the British summer. We’ve managed to get a significant amount of diving done over those few weeks including 2 trips to the coast which, despite ‘challenging’ weather conditions were loads of fun with some pretty decent diving. Special congratulations should go to Fay, Andris, Dan and Greg who all completed the wreck course in Plymouth.
We have one more UK trip planned for the year on the 18th and 19th of October. This is going to be down in Portland diving off the hardboat Scimitar. Any of the group who came on the last trip will attest that this is a fantastic boat with a very friendly crew. The idea is to go and do a few of the local wrecks as well as a bit of scalloping before returning to London. The sea temperature should still be absolutely fine for wetsuits so if you fancy a bit more diving before winter then let me know.
We may run one more trip in November, weather dependent; this will probably operate in a much more last minute capacity so keep your eyes peeled for any emails or announcements. If you’d like to be on our mailing list please send me an email at info@divinglesiurelondon.co.uk and I’ll be glad to put you down.
We do also have one more space available on our Maldives trip please head through to the trips page for more details about this amazing holiday.
The main reason for these meanderings is to bring up the subject of trips for next year. There are plenty of possibilities and from a UK point of view we’ll definitely keep to the monthly trips. There’s plenty of interest in another trip to Scapa as well as the possibility of a trip to Lundy Island to dive with seals.
Abroad, we have loads of options. We have Blue Horizon booked for the last week of July and I can start taking deposits for that now. I’d also like to run a trip sometime in Spring perhaps to Gozo or Dahab.
The other idea in the offing for next year is a liveaboard to Komodo or Thailand.
I’m going to put some ideas for trips on the forum (I know it’s bit naff at the moment and we’re working on making it a lot more user friendly). Please let me know what you think and where you’d like to go.
Also, please do come to the Charity Ball, it’s all in a good cause and you’ll have the best evening of your life*. It’s not often you get a chance to get all dressed up and maybe win some brilliant prizes. It’ll be loads of fun and just like a normal gathering of people in black tie except this time with the mild whiff of neoprene. Go to this site and book your tickets: http://www.bottlefish.net/ball_main.html
So to summarise:
- Do you want to go to Portland on the 18th and 19th of October (£145 for all diving and accommodation, excludes equipment hire).
- Where do you want to go diving next year?
- Book your tickets to the Charity Ball. Do it, do it know!
Many Thanks
Alex
