PADI Advanced Open Water Course
Prices from £350

from 350.00

The Advanced Course is the next step on from Open Water. It is designed to fit back to back with the Open Water course for those divers wishing to gain a bit more experience with an instructor present as well as getting qualified to dive to 30m.

The deeper depth rating opens up a whole new range of potential dive sites and is also essential if you want to dive in the UK. The best part of the Advanced Course is that there’s no classroom, no pool and only a small amount of homework, it's just about the diving!

Course Packages

  • Bronze (£350): Our basic course option allows you to complete the course in a drysuit which has the major advantage of familiarising you with the best way to stay warm underwater!  It also includes the premium E-learning service for the theory aspect of the course. This option also includes a confined water orientation in the drysuit before the course begins.
  • Silver (£420): This is our most popular option. This option also includes a quality spool and a surface marker buoy. Not only will you save over £30 on the price of the spool and SMB but we'll also show you how to use them on the course!
  • Gold (£450): Add your drysuit qualifying dive as a bolt-on and save £100 off the drysuit course.

How the course works

We usually run the Advanced Course every month at an inland site but we can also complete the course on coastal UK trips or overseas for those who would like to learn abroad.

The course takes 2 days to complete during which you'll do 5 qualifying dives. We usually run the following dives:

  • 2 core dives comprising a deep and a navigation dive
  • 3 other dives - wreck, peak performance buoyancy and drysuit. Please do speak to us if there are other dives that interest you.

The emphasis on the course is to increase your diving experience and skill set under the guidance of an instructor. Most divers find the course incredibly enjoyable because we move away from static skill circuits and much more towards moving around and deeper dives.

When we conduct the course at the inland sites we usually do a day of shallow dives at Wraysbury on the Saturday before heading down to Vobster Quay or NDAC on the Sunday to do the deeper dives.

What's included?

The course includes all E-learning course materials, equipment hire, training and certification. The following are not included:

  • Transportation to/from the dive site, though we will usually try and arrange car-sharing between course participants
  • Dive site entry fees
  • Accommodation (where applicable)

Course prerequisites

  • Open Water certified
  • Aged 12 years old

What's the next step?

The next step is to continue onto Rescue or to start on any of the specialities like Wreck or Deep.
